Prague 2025 Pride Parade

We had a blast at the Prague Pride Parade on August 3rd. We met up at 11:45 and started the festive walk at noon. We walked down Wenceslas Square, then turned right down Na Prikope Shopping street. The streets were full of shoppers, tourists and locals. We passed the beautiful Municipal House on Namesti Republiky and turned left on Dlouha. The windows were full of residents watching us pass and waving hello.

As we got close to Oldtown Square, we could hear a great DJ playing 80’s classics.  We started dancing,  and water hoses were refreshing the hot streets. We boogied all the way down Parižska Street, until we were welcomed by a big crowd across Cechuv bridge and up the steps of Letna Park. I believe it was great success! It was a wonderful coming together of members of both Prague congregations. We had lovely signs from last year’s parade, and the new addition of our hand painted inclusive flag. 

Secret Postcards

Thanks to a great collaborative effort between the IUCP and our NGO partner Amelie, z.s., the long-awaited Secret Postcard Exhibition took place at Unitaria from 24 to 26 October. We received 576 creative postcards from at least seven countries. Through the sale of 135 cards, prints by the late artist Misha Kain (generously donated by IUCP member Sue Kain), beautiful roses, and fun Amelie grab bags, we were able to raise over 48,000 Kr. to support Amelie’s activities to improve the lives of individuals with cancer (and their families) here in the Czech Republic. What a wonderful demonstration of the universal power of art in fostering connections and making a positive impact.

Prague 2024 Pride Parade

Congregation members happily took part in Prague’s 2024 Pride Parade. Our members take part every year in the parade, and we hold a joint service with the Czech-language congregation the day after to commemorate our commitment to equal rights for all.
